Hello Everyone

This is my first post. I am new to the forum.

I did a search on my topic but I did not have much luck or I did not look in the right place.

I am looking for a paint code or a source for touch up paint for the above mentioned motor. I am looking for a bottle or can, not airosol that I can airbrush or just brush. I am looking for the dark blue and white (light grey for the lettering) Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you and good luck,

Grits

Google Tempo engine paint. Iboats sell a few colors but you will find all kinds on the web.I painted my 1981 Johnson and the color match was perfect.

I checked Iboats store, that color not listed.
Here is a link to where you can get it.Also you need to sand it down and put a light coat of Zinc Chromate primer on before the paint..;)

Remove the quotes from the link and copy and paste in your browser..

Thank you for your direction. I searched the web but it was like looking for a needle in a hay stack.

The metallic blue is in good shape with the exception of a few small chips. It is white under the blue which stands out worse than a sore thumb. Just about all of them can be touched up with an artist brush. I have one about the size of a dime that may require a little more attention.

The white paint on the raised lettering is going to be a little more time consuming. It will have to be repainted. I feel I can airbursh it after masking all the letters. Masking will be the nerve racking part.

Have a good Thanksgiving.

I have the exact same engine as you, your rude/ jonny dealer should be able to order the paint for you.

Thanks,

The have the rattle cans; however, I am looking for something I can airbrush or just brush. I may have to have it mixed. Everything is very minor but every little ding shows on such a dark color. I am a little color blind and I thought is was black for the first month I owned it. I bought my wife a car that I thought was black. To say the least, I was wrong.

Gary,

I am with you on the high end paint. I painted our outboards we use duck hunting. I used a two part urethane and have not regreted it. If you look at you time spent to do it properly, the additional cost of the paint is nothing not to mention it will last for ever. It is also easier to apply.

Yes,I think you get what you pay for as far as paint goes.I repainted my transom with that Dupont,3 coats of color and 5 clear just to use it all up.
Best looking part of the boat and water has no affect on it.I do keep it on the trailer though. The paint store said the Dupont would hold up better than the Imron..So far so good..

I'm slipping.I meant to add Welcome aboard! Hope you had a good Thanksgiving!

LOL you could just go ahead and sell me that 120 and you wouldnt have to worry about painting. Sorry I had to post this. I been looking for a 120 of basically the same year and yours is the first I have seen in awhile.
