Towing a 1980 Yarcraft

I am going to be getting a 1980 Yarcraft cabin with a 140hp evenrude on a 1981 shoreline trailer. I am going to be using a ford explore sport trac 4x4 automatic for the tow of about 40 miles. Does anyone have any ideas if this will work or not. I am looking at getting a draw tight hitch before I move it as well.

Find out about what the trailer will weigh ready to launch. Be sure the trailer has working brakes. Then find out what the truck is rated to tow. If the weight is about 75% of the tow rating, or less, you will be fine as far as equipment goes. The rest is up to your driving/towing skills.

Do not accept casual advice from anyone who is not in a position to pay damages, fines and/or funeral expenses. Use the numbers from the makers.
