Preston40,<br />If you are going to attach it to the stern cleats, make sure the cleats are beefy in size and are bolted through the hull, with a metal plate on the inside. If not, the first real strain could rip them right off of the boat. Cleats are designed to tie a non moving boat to a pier or dock, not handle the stress loads of pulling a tube.<br /><br />The best set up is a pair of "U" bolts on each side of the transom, with metal backer plates on the inside. Then use a ski bridel to attach the tube line. The bridel is what Knights mentioned. Its a length of rope with hooks on both ends and a pulley in the middle. Typically, they run for about 10 bucks at Walmart. The pully allows the load to move side to side so it doesn't affect the steering as bad as a direct connection.<br /><br />Enjoy,<br />Nav
