Plus after all that us done.... A cordless sawsall can quickly cut the tongue behind the coupler and a thief can chain the stolen boat trailer to the stolen truck he is driving and be gone within a few minutes.

Absolutely. I try to discourage the would-be thief by slowing him down. Lock on drawbar,lock on hitch and cable lock from frame to frame. The only time I go to this extreme is when I park in a suspicious area. In my area the boating community are mostly good people.

What's that old saying? Oh, yeah - Locks only keep honest people honest.

If a thief wants it, they get it. You do what you can and keep your insurance agent's card handy just in case.

Actually my rig has been secured for all this years just with a coupler lock, ball mount lock, bow stop chain and security chains when trailering, at the private ramp leave it the same way, when leaving at my private boat park just use the coupler lock. Thats all you need to, what else?
