Anyone out there ever tow with the Suzuki XL7 V6. We bought a Suntracker 18' DLX Bass Buggy and need to tow it 300 miles over a few mountian areas in California. The trailor on the boat will have brakes.

not the best to vehicle, but certainly well within your rating. Make sure maintenance is up and everything is good to go, and then just keep your speed down to a reasonable level. Make sure to shift the trans down if you need to, higher RPM's (within reason) doesn't destroy engines and transmissions, lack of them does!

Welcome to iboats!

What vintage is the Suzuki? The first generation was body-on-frame construction, while the second is unibody. The towing limit of the Gen 1s was 3500#, not sure about the Gen 2s. It looks like your boat, motor and trailer weight on the on of 2000#. Add fuel, coolers, equipment, etc, and figure on maybe 2500#, so you should be okay. Add an auxiliary transmission cooler.

Thanks for your feedback. I feel better now. Didn't want to go out and buy a new vehicle.
