Towing with cockpit mooring cover?

How many people here tow with their cockpit mooring covers on?

Don't tow with the morring cover. When I'm not trying to break any land speed records I keep the Bimini top, sides and drop curtain up, only because it's a PITA to rig up when before or when I get in the water. BTW, it's usually raining here in OR and we like to keep as dry and toasty (heater running) as possible.

I was told that the snap covers will stretch out over time and not offer a snug fit if you leave them on while towing.

I have towed with and without. If its a long haul, the cover comes off just so I don't have another thing to worry about. If its a short trip I'll leave it on. Boat stays in the water now, so not much a big deal anymore. As far as stretching goes, it depends on the material. Some stretch like crazy, and others will be fine for years. Side note though, if you have even a slight tear in it, take it off as it will be spaghetti once you get were you are going.
