Re: traailer help

Can you post some pics of said trailer? Would be very helpful to see what you have so people can make recomendations on how to resolve your issue.

As ricky says, it's tough to diagnose without knowing more, but how high is your tongue? Do you tow with a lifted vehicle? Seems obvious I realize, but that's the only speculation I can provide without pics or at least a description of your setup. Tell us more and we'll try to help you out. Welcome aboard.

Re: traailer help

Look at a see-saw (teeter-totter) in your local playground. If the hitch on the tow vehicle is too high, the tail end of the trailer will be low and vice versa just like the see-saw. If you attempt to change the ride-height of the trailer by modifying the suspension or going with bigger wheels and tires, you only increase height by 1/2 inch for for each inch in tire diameter. If you change suspension one inch in height raises the trailer one inch. If you have a steep driveway approach, you may not be able to compensate enough. What you can do is rather than back into the driveway straight on, back in at an angle so one wheel starts up the slope well befor ethe other. Same when leaving the driveway.

On level ground how is the trailer sitting? How much rake does it have? It should be slightly tilted down towards the tongue end. If it is too high at the tongue you can change your ball drawbar to one that has more offset drop. Wally world or HF has them fairy cheap.

Re: traailer help

If you have some pics of it hooked p to the tow rig that would be helpful. If it rides pretty much like it's sitting then you may need to get a longer drop hitch. The front of the trailer shouldn't be more than a few inches above the rear (measured along the main veam of the trailer).

i would say it rides as you see it on the pitcure if anything it might lift 1 or 1/2 and inch but ill try to get some pictures of it hooked up to the truck so you can take a better look at it. i thought about a droped hitch but wasnt really sure if it would help.

Welcome to iboats!

A hitch ball mount with more drop is exactly what you need to level the trailer. The usual height of the tongue is between 17" and 19" for most trailers to run level.

Nothing wrong with the trailer. It needs to ride level. Adjust the towcar accordingly.

Re: traailer help

Looks to me like the trailer is riding low. There is generally more space between the tire and fender. Looks like the tires will rub on bumps, which they should not. My opinion is the trailer is overloaded or the springs have sagged or cracked one or more leaves on each side.

The tire looks low, too. It should be filled to the maximum PSI listed on the sidewall.
