I have a 2000 Tracker 125 hp engine pushing a Nitro 750 NX bass boat. I have a 4 blade, 24 pitch Quicksilver Trophy prop (WOT rpms are within specs). How long should it take before engine rpm increases and my boat comes up on plane? When I throttle up, regarless of how fast or slow I increase the throttle, the engine seems to take 10 or 15 seconds to increase in RPM. I do understand that this engine operates on 2 cylinders at idle and increases to four once a certain rpm is reached. I also note that when I go to put the boat on the trailer that it has a tendency to stall and I usually end up winching it up on the trailer the rest of the way. This problem may be totally unrelated but any help is appreciated.

Re: Tracker (Mercury) 125

Sounds like a synchronization problem. They're touchy.
