I recently purchased a pontoon boat with a Tracker 90 on it. First time out it ran good at first then turned horrible. Took it back where I bought it and they said it had ingested water in the #3 cylinder. They completly rebuilt the motor (I watched this happen over a weeks time) They did some running in test tanks and seems to be good. Took it out on the water yesterday and started the breakin period and all seemed fine got to the the end of the 2 hour and in to the 3-10 Hour breakin proceedures where occasional full throtle runing for 1-2 minutes and on 2 occasions it just seemd to act as if I was throttling down until it stalled. Sat for about 3-7 minutes and it started right back up and runs fine at about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. When I go to full throttle it seemed sluggish.

Now we did do some modifications to try to keep water from spraying up on the engine, however yesterday we noticed that at full throttle and it takes a minutes or so, the engine creates its own spray at the front of the engine where it mounts to the boat ( that little space). Is there an air intake there, if so could this be where it is getting water from??? I am at a loss.

Any ideas are appreciated.
Greg
