Tragic local news story....

We recently had a local accident involving a 2-year old girl who fell out of a 3rd floor apartment window. Absolutely terrible to happen to the girl and her family. :(

Praying for her to make it. (I did not know them but live in the next town over).

I wanted to share this in hopes of preventing it from happening again. These screens on newer windows are only for bugs, and don't take much to push out. Not like the older ones that had heavy latches on both ends and were in aluminum tracks.

Thanks.

Children 1-3 seem to be the most vulnerable to this tragedy. Apartments should have a lock or bar on the window preventing it from opening more than about 4 inches. Very sad story, I hope the little girl makes it.

That situation is easily avoided if you lower the top sash instead of raising the lower. Absolutely no difference in the amount of air flow
