I have a Load Rite T7300 roller bunk trailer that i use to haul a 26 ft cruiser that weighted about 6200 lbs, no longer have the cruiser. Just bought a 24 foot pontoon boat and would like to covert this trailer to a bunk trailer to accomadate the 24 ft. pontoon that weighs about 2400lbs. I called Load Rite and a couple of dealers and they did not want to touch it.

I guess its something that i would have to enginer and fabricate myself, any ideas

Re: Trailer coversion

Welcome to iboats.

Just a suggestion.......... sell or trade in the trailer you have. There are some pontoon specialists here and I yield to their opinions.

There are several good reason those dealers don't want to touch that particular liability issue.
Boat trailers are usually specific to their type of load, and converting to a different style isn't recommended.

Spend the money, and trade in that old trailer for a pontoon trailer, you will be exponentially happier in the long run, as well as having a safer product as well.

Re: Trailer coversion

Putting a 2400lb boat on a trailer rated for 7300lb will not allow the springs to compress; there's not enough load. The result will be a VERY hard ride for your pontoon, possibly damaging it.
