My beautiful ranger 519vx was struck by a car. Trailer is destroyed and I need one ASAP. Any ideas of where to find a used one. Insurance is only going to cover value of 2004 custom trailer. If I cant find one, I will have to cough up about 2000 of my own money. What the hell do we pay for insurance for. I shouldn't have to pull a dime out of my pocket for someone elses mistake. Any ideas or has anyone else ever had this problem?

Need help on a Ranger trailer issue

Need help on a Ranger trailer issue

I talked to a few of you earlier. Looks like the insurance is only going to cover about $2500 of the ranger boat trailer. The trailer is totalled so I do need a new one. A new one runs around $4500 unless i can find a used 519vx single axle somewhere that is in mint condition. For not being my fault, it sure is a bunch of crap that I have to pull out of my pocket to pay for part of the trailer.
I adjuster also said that they might total the whole boat. The motor wasn't damaged but the hull needs alot of fiberglass work. Just some half dollar size holes underneath and scratches on the gelcoat.
Its a 2004 and she said if they scrap it , I will get a check for about 24 grand. I can only hope for this because who knows what else is wrong with the structure of the boat as well as the motor.
There is also the issue of my diesel chevy from the impact. Even though the truck wasn't hit, the hitch was destroyed, the bumper was bent, the tonno cover was destroyed, my dog got thrown up against the window, and the frame might be bent.
On top of that, I was recovering from a herniated disc and the jolt really messed it up along with my neck.

The worst thing is that all of my fishing poles flew off the boat and got broke. 4 of them are still missing in the corn field.

As much as I hate to say it, but with all the ramifications of this accident, you probably should seek the assistance of an attorney.

The trailer deal sucks, although you may make out on the boat. The truck may be a separate issue with them, but the real problem is your back. Problems with the spine can take up to 18 - 24mos to become obvious, and that's with a good spine. Which you do not have. They may even try to disclaim any responsibility for your failure to recover.

Also, as soon as you sign off on the settlement, you could be toast for future claims for injury.

Not saying you should sue, it is way too soon as they appear to be working with you right now. Just saying you need legal advise as to how what you do now may impact future circumstance.

Yes, it does sound like you need to lawyer up; not to see how much you can squeeze out of the other party's insurance company, but to be sure all the ramifications are considered. There's a lot going on here, more than the average layman could ever hope to sort through properly on his own. Get an attorney.

INSURANCE COMPANY......THE THE EVENT OF A FULL LOSS THEY ARE REQUIRED TO EITHER REPAIR OR REPLACE YOUR YOU LOSS. TELL THAT INSURANCE ADJUSTER TO FIND ONE HIMSELF. INFORM HIM THAT YOU ARE GOING TO LAWYER UP IF HE DONT MAKE IT RIGHT. As long as the accident was not your fault then you have a foot to stand on. ARE YOU trying to settle this with your ins co or the othe guys? if you are trying to settle this with the other guys take it to your co and have them settle it. dont be afraid to tell them NO that aint good enough. i do underestand about wanting to get the trailer so you can get back on the water but if you was hit hard enough to take out the trailer i am still concerned about how structurally sound the boat its self is
