The other day I saw a utility trailer with aftermarket chrome wheels with hubcaps the hubcaps a had hole in the middle so that you can get to the buddy bearing grease zerks I have looked on the net but not been able to find them what are they called and who sells them. I have an older boat trailer with a odd size of bearing buddy (1820 ) had to special order new ones I would like to get these hub caps to prevent knocking another on off on a curb.

Re: trailer hub caps

the first problem is finding one to fit your wheel. i have seen some where the guy took Moon caps, and used a hole saw and cut out the middle.

When you find the hub cap to fit your wheel, you have to put the hole in yourself. If it is a plastic cap use a drill press and a hole saw from the reverse side with tape on the money side to minimize chipping. If it is a metal cap, you can hole saw that also but it leaves an unappealing edge. Take them to a metalworking job shop and ask for the appropriate holes to be punched using a die that not only makes the hole but will radius the edge at the same time. It will strengthen the cap and also improve the appearance as well.
