Re: Trailer question???

PS - someone in the Starcraft restos had a trailer blasted (Jason?) and I seem to remember is was $50. $350 must include primer, paint and pinstripes. And maybe green neon underneath so you look cool too. LOL

Thats what I'm thinking Said I had to take the rollers and lights of before he would blast it. . The wire brush is looking better, but sure will be willing to have it cleaned up so it will look like new,

Yah, I think I paid $150 for just the frame. I had already done all the axles/fenders. I did get a couple quotes in the $300 range though.

if you have a decent compressor you can buy your own sandblaster at harbor freight for half the price. They work pretty well too, I have used them in the past.

I've gone a different route. I really like the rust converter stuff. Creates a great base coat.

Makes it look like Rhino Liner??? That would be ok, if it all looked the same nobody would question it.

Re: Trailer question???

I found a place that charged by the hour. That is sometimes scary but..... they charged $75/hour. It took about an hour BUT..... It depends a lot on what you are doing for coating. If you are going to powder coat it, the blasting takes much more time. The surface needs to be smoother and cleaner. If you are just going to paint it yourself with good old paint, doesn't take as long.

BE SURE TO COVER/PROTECT THE VIN #s!!!!!!! Loose them and the trailer is yours forever!!

Re: Trailer question???

Back in the late 80's, I would take apart, blast, prime, paint and re assemble a boat trailer ( up to 25' ) for $400. Most people at the time wanted to have their trailer painted to match their tow vehicle. I would take 3, 8 hr days to turn a trailer and I would run new wires and lights and pin stripes for the cost of materials.

But that was back in the 80's...

We just got a quote back for 150/boat 150/trailer. I'd say shop around a little more.
