Its probably being damaged by the bunk and the water is just finishing the job. Get it away from the bunk.

I think you're a good candidate for a shoot-through-hull installation or a through-hull transducer. A tiny piece of debris will make mincemeat out of most transducer mounts at 70 MPH, as you have discovered.

Yep, I'd bet on the bunk doing a number on it ...

I'd go with a shoot-thru hull installation, or a thru-hull.

While the bunk is probably knocking the ducer loose and causing it to be lost, the step in the hull is going to create problems as the ducer is not getting clean water from directly under the hull.

Is the sonar is working at high speed? It looks like the ducer would be out of the water while on plane.

At WOT any debris in the water that passes under the boat will take off a transducer. That debris can be nothing more than a wad of weeds. Some transducers are simply not as durable as others.

Am I seeing things correctly?
It would appear that the brackets are gone too and the hardware ripped out.
Maybe you are using the wrong hardware to mount the thing.

Interesting picture! I see 9 screw holes. Which screw holes were the last 2 transducers mounted? He hasn't mentioned the 3 or more prior transducers, and there could have been more if the same hole patterns were used more than once. Does this happen to be the fellow who has been giving all of us advice on how to drill holes in our boat hull?
