Yea, I had a spare prop cut mine clean, I stripped it back about an inch on either side, soldered the center solid copper wires together side by side then twisted the braided steel together and soldered that too, the tricky part was insulating the two apart from touching each other, heat shrink tubing is your friend, or you can go to radio shack and buy a splice connector. I actually though it mignt mess up the calibration but I compared it to my spare suction cup portable transducer and found it's cable is about 6 feet shorter, it works just as it always did.
