Transducer installation (Trophy 1802)

Hello, I am wondering if anyone has had experiance installing one of the shoot thru-hull transducers on a Trophy 1802? I am trying to avoid drilling holes in my Transom if at all possible and the Bilge / shoot thru seems like a good option. Any thoughts or feedback welcomed

I have installed a shoot thru and mine works well, but not a Trophy. Can you easily get to the bottom of the bilge? Also, my biggest problem was keeping the transducer still while the epoxy setup on the 20 degree bottom, it just wanted to slide downhill of course. My arm was killing me as I tried to hold it until it setup. This is important as the goal is to have no air between the transducer, epoxy, bottom etc. I understand another worry is air inside the hull. One way to be sure is to launch and select your spot based on where you get a good signal/picture. I think they recommend putting it in a bag or something similar to simulate the epoxy . . .

To get an idea of how it will work, immerse the transducer in a plastic bag of water and place it where you would like it. You can also put some water in the bilge, in that area. I like idea #1 better. See how it works.

I have used duct tape to hold them in place while the epoxy sets.

The trick is to get the hull/bilge as clean as possible for attempting to mount it. Use Acetone.

Also, make sure the transducer you have is suitable for that type of mount. Some are not.
