Hey all,
I just purchased a Lowrance LCX-26C HD Fish Finder/GPS for my 17' Lowe Fish & Ski.
Currently I have a Humminbird 727 installed on the Help, and I am going to be replacing that with eh LCX-26c HD, and moving the 727 Up to the bow.
I assume that the holes used to mount the Humminbird transucer on the transom, probably wont line up with the mounting holes for the Lowrance transducer?
If that is the case, What do you guys suggest to do with the holes from the Hummin bird transducer?
As for the 727 that I am relocating to the bow, What is the suggested hook up for power? Should I tap into the 24v trolling motor outlet in the bow, or should I run the power wires back to the help where they are connected now on 12v? (I assume the 727 is capable of running on the 24v system, anyone know?)
Trolling Motor Question(s):
Right now I have a 71lb Digital Motor Guide 50" shaft. I have many complaints about this motor, but that I'll save for another time.
I am looking at getting a Minn Kota PowerDrive motor to replace it. Minn kota offers a 70lb w/Universal Sonar, and a 55lb w/universal Sonar.
The 71lb that i have now, is alot. If i turn it all the way up, the boat gets moving at a pretty good speed. I was just going to get the 65lb, but Minn Kota doesn't offer the 65lb w/Universal Sonar, So that would drop me all the way down to 55lb, which is also 12v.
What is your guy's input on this? will a 55lb 12v motor be enough? Since I already have the 2 batterties, I would just rewire them in series if I did downgread to the 55lb 12v motor.
Also, The 50" shaft that I have now is too short, any little wake, and the blades start comming out of the water. The fishing package from the factory comes with a 60" shaft, but the Tracker Targa 175 Sport, which is a very similar boat, comes with a 54" shaft.
Do I need a 60" or a 54"? This is a Deep Vee hull. That too could make the choice on 55lb vs 70lb because the 55lb only comes in a 54", the 70lb I can get in 54" or 60"
Thanks for the help.
