Re: Transducer mounting

Howdy there fl whaler, 5200 is an awesome sealer. ive used it to seal the screw holes but not just for an adhesive. i suggest the fast cure cause the other stuf takes a few days to cure and you'll end up getting it all over yourself, loike sheet rock mud or roof tar. after you apply spray it with a little water and it will kick faster. :)

I would not use 5200 alone. It is a sealer and is great when used in comb/with screws or bolts.

Hey FL,
If you are mounting the txducer on a glass boat, put it in the hull with epoxy. Works great thru a single hull (near the plug) and no worries about knocking it off. Make sure not to trap any air in the epoxy or in the rough glass, txducer works great thru glass but not air.

Re: Transducer mounting

Fl whaler
I have two transducers on my plus a temp sensor and a speed sensor. My big 8 degree has two screws to mount it. all the rest of the stuff is glued on with silacon seal. Been that way for 23 years with no problems.

If I was starting over today I would mount one of plastic tranducer mounting plates with two screws above the water line and then screw all the transducer to the plastic plate with no holes in boat below water line.

Go to Cabelas and search for Transducer Mount.

http://www.cabelas.com
