I am trying to come up with the most acurate way to cut wood for housing?
Should I mount in boat then drill and cut?
use cardboard template that was made on tear out?
or use pieces of old transom for template??
mxcobra, I made these, but I already had the 1/8 masonite in my garage. I traced the inner and outer transom plates.
The patterns made it easy to layout the transom and they are dead on. I could have done it much quicker by tracing the the hull, however I take pride in always doing things the hard way. You'd think I would learn.
on the full transom....you just need to get close....the filler and the glass will take up the rest. your tolerances are as much as 1/2 inch......so its no big deal.
the outer cut out is already there....so just follow the key hole pattern in the skin. that is easy.
