Hello,

Just picked up a 2009 Tahoe Q5i SF I/O. I noticed where the drain plug screws in, it's just plastic and never gets really tight ( threads are getting chewed up). Boat doesnt seem to be taking in water, but on my old Sea ray, that plug receiver was brass. It looks like this part is held on with 2 simple screws. Does any one know if i can replace the drain plug receiver with a brass one - and where would i start to locate a part like that.

Google transom drain plugs on IBoats. Yes you can replace them as long as the the size fits the old opening. To reinstall you will need a tube of 3M 5200 to seal it back up.
