Transom flexing

I recently repowered my 22' Pursuit with a Honda bf225, this motor is about 100lbs heavier than the previous motor. My question is, should I be noticing any transom flexing? When the motors were swicthed out the tech explained the transom was in great shape, no rot. I have never seen signs of rot in the transom, but I am alittle concerned with the movement of the transom. When I tilt the motor all the way to the up position it will rock back and forth alittle, a very little I might add but I can still notice it, in addition when I'm running WOT the motor will bounce alittle when hitting 1'-2' chop. Is this amount of movement normal? Should it move at all? I don't recall my old Yammy 225 moving like this, but I don't think I ever paid it any mind. If this is a problem, what are my option?

Raise it all the way up, and place you body weight on the prop end. If it flexes to any great degree, you may want to investigate further. I don't see issue with a little flex, but if that thing is moving inches, rather than just a bit, like a half inch or less, then the transom may need to be looked at. I would have a heavy buddy do the actual pushing, and you look at the transom to see if there is any flex, and where it is happening. As far as the bounce while under way in heavy chop, it could be the motor is set up to swing up if it strikes an underwater obstacle, and it is just popping up a bit, but the forward thrust should prevent it from moving. Its a tough call without seeing it action. Good luck...

I put the biggest guy I had around, Me( 6'1" 260lbs) on the end of the outboard and tired to move the transom, it flexed maybe only a 1/8" but it still was enough to notice. I guess the new motors are just heavier that makes the flexing more noticable. I will keep my eye on the transom for signs of cracking and overflexing. I wonder if I could glass in additional supports agianst the transom wall? I'm not sure if I could even get down in there to do it. I just want it to be as strong as it can be, so any ideas will be helpful.
