Transom Saver for I/O? Use them?

I know there has already been some discussion on outboards but was not able to find any regarding I/O's..

I was told by local guys that I should be using clips, which I have since bought, but I prefer to get some other thoughts.

I don't see the point. I would think that the thrust of the motor being operated would be greater than a little bouncy bounce going down the road.

use the transom saver, cuts down on the wear on the unit.

All you would be doing is wasting your money, the engine is where the outdrive bolts to,the transom is a pass thru for the gear,there is no load on the transom like with an outboard,plus outdrives take alot more punishment propelling the boat while its in the water..than when being trailered.
