Transom Trim !

I am rebuilding my transom and wanted to know where i can buy the trim that goes around the finished transom cap . I dont know what its called or where to buy it . the old trim was plastic ! Thanks JJB

Personally I covered the top edge of my transom with glass and poly and painted it to match the boat. I took the angle of less holes and places for water to be trapped = less rotten wood.

Forget the aluminum cap on a new transom.

The trim is for older boats with unslightly cracks along the angles and edges of the transom cutout.

I replace the tattered trim on one of my boats and I simply when to the local storm door and window place around here and they bent me a replacement piece to fit for about $30. It's a tad heavier than the old stuff but super durable. It's anodized silver so it should hold up to salt too pretty well. I wanted stainless, but no one had it in stock at the time. I suppose a place that does comercial kitchens may have stainless though, and have the ability to make a nice looking cap for you.
