Went inside packed cooler came back out to tilt up trim and doesn't work up but down is fine. Checked wires and fuses nothing loose or disconnected. Please help or any suggestions !!

Need to know, does the "trailer" switch work. If so the problem is with the trim limit circuit (quite common). Either wires or switch. If neither the trailer nor trim work, it gets a little more complicated.

Re: Trim does down not up!!!

There is no trailer trim on the boat. The trim consists of 3 buttons lined up vertically, for trim to go down push the button on the bottom and to go up I push the two top buttons at the same time. If this helps when I came back to the boat the motor was resting on the grass, I thought someone put it down but it did it by itself. What would make it lose pressure to let it go down?

Theres a microswitch on shift plate behind motor, make sure a wire did not fall off.

This same thing happened to me. Easy fix.

Any chance of what this switch looks like and maybe a pic of where it is located?

You do have a "trailer " switch, just not called that on your boat;). It should work this way: push the bottom button: trim down, Push the middle button: trim up part way and then stops (trim limit), Push the top button: trim all the way up to the "trailer" position. Try this: run it all the way down, then push just the top button. Does it go all the way up?

Go up to "adults only", #9 Merc manuals, Manual #2 covers your older unit I think. Download manual and look at electrical systems, section E for wiring diagrams covering the trim electronics, and section 7 for troubleshooting your hydraulics. Good luck.
