Why do you want another pump? What's your old one doing or not doing. I wouldn't buy anything because those yo-yo's said you needed it.

Re: trim pump interchangeable

don its real rusty and doing not a thing. i was thinking about while at the boat today. take it off bring it home and clean it up really good they got the lines off of it so i guess the drive can go down??? i think that maybe with cleaning it might need some solinolds or something. i know its a tough this to ask but is it possible its really rusty and if i clean it up real good it may work again

Anything is Possible Bob,........

The pumps with the Plastic Tanks are the Newer pumps,+ the 1 you Want......
If you Can't get your's running,......
ebay is a Great resourse for a Used 1,.....
And NAPA is a Good place to get a New 1........

The 1 in your picture Looks like an Old Outboard pump,......
I've got a couple that date back to the Late 70s........

Re: trim pump interchangeable

bondo . the one in the pict the guy sent me say's its for a 97...he's nuts he wants new money for an old pump..i get boat back today.. on ebay a guy rebuilds them and so far hes got the best deal about $250 for a quality rebuilt one. i called him on the phone he says he been doing it for a hobbie for years. i am tapped out for a week or so because of them giving me the boat back . after 5 months in 90 degree heat verses charging me for a new pump over the winter and putting the right gears in the drive or asking me to buy one.. i gladly would have tryed a merc clone with 3 year watt. for 1200.00. but as you know everything was done *** backwards. i still have so much to do on the boat. the whole idea was to do little things and it worked out bad. but i get it bad today...today i will run motor. check gas tank, clean boats up some and check lots of stuff blide pump blower etc. then take pump home and see what i really have . if he was qualifedi would had gladly paid 2k more in the winter to fix it right . and not get it back in june..my biggest regret is not buying a 5k complete drop in motor. it would have samed me time and money as i just got a bad shop..never again.

Re: trim pump interchangeable

I've seen some pretty rusty pumps that actully worked fine.
If you don't get any clicks or anything else, it could be just a power or ground problem. Maybe not even hooked up by that quality shop you were using :p
Anyway, get a couple of jumper wires and hook one to the ground on a battery and hook it directly to the ground (black) wire on the pump. Hook a second jumper to the positive terminal on your battery and hook it to either the blue (up) or green (down) wire from the pump. See if it runs. If it runs and the drive goes up and down, you don't need a pump at this point.
