After sitting for 9 months (New England winter).......pushed the trim buttom, got only "click" up or down. after a couple of tries, it rasied and lowered-the pump pumped as it should, I figured the armature got a little rusted?, stuck? Next day, only got the "click", I went thought the service manual-motor checked out good (YEAH!) and the solenoids checked out good when using a jump wire.....so I thought it must be just bad connections?? Took off ever wire, cleaned it all up, put it back togeather. Now I get NO up (not even a click), down works perfect, but the trailor button which is also an "up" works fine?? I got called into dinner (OK, I got yelled in to come inside....). any suggestions on what to check tomorrow??

Re: Trim pump motor not working correctly

Keven you need to post year, motor and outdrive. I assume it's your 3.0 Merc. Your trim limit circuit is defective, either the switch or wires. Most likely the switch. Find the two black wires that go into a connector with a purple/white and (2) blue/white wires. Jumper across the connector and see if the trim works, if it does you have isolated the problem.

Re: Trim pump motor not working correctly

I found it-it was my trim limit switch on the outdrive, just needed adjustment.
THANKS!
