I want to install a trim gauge on my 1997 50hp Evinrude. Does this require a sending unit or do I just need the gauge? If I need a sending unit, does anyone know how much it might cost?

Thanks !

Is the engine an original T&T engine? If so, most likely the sending unit is there. They are not that cheap. The last time I checked, about $50.

The engine is not an original T&T. I converted the Touch-Trim to the OEM TnT.

Why do you need it? I just took my gauge out to make room for a water pressure gauge. If you can see the water, just trim you motor that way, lot easier to get proper trim. Top of the motor should be level with the water while running.
