This might be a little off topic, but there is no other really good place to discuss this question that I can tell... I have a 1990 Cruisers Inc, 32' with original Trim tabs.. I really dont know the mfg but I suspect they are pretty main stream products...(bennet maybe) One of the pistons seems to be leaking a little oil onto the trim tab... Is this something that can be repaired, or rebuilt, or will I have to replace the whole piston?

If they're Bennets,....... They're Completely Rebuildable..........

I haven't seen Tabman around lately,...
But they'll either Sell you or many times Give you the nessessary Part to get it Back in order..........

I Don't know Why,.....
But Trim Tab Manufactures are the Greatest People in the Business World..........
Besides Tabman,+ Bennets,....

We have Nauti-John from Nauticus hanging around here All the time,....
Owner, Designer,+ COE,.... Just hanging out Helping his Past,+ Future Customers..............

That's Service..................... :)

PaulO, I had one leaking. It was an insta trim.
If you look at the bottom of the cyl.where the rod comes out I think that will unscrew and you can pull the piston out. you will find I believe 2 rubber cups. One might have a large O ring in it.Pull the cups off and take them to a place that sells
Bearings and seals they can match them up.
Hope this helps
Beef :D

Beef,

If I take it apart, I presume oil will be lost. Will simply refilling the resovour and cycling the controls purge the air out once it is put back together?
