gents, I have an 185 Baretta and the trim motor is frozen. Is there a place I can send it to for rebuild that is affordable and reliable? My mechanic says a repacement (which is not OEM) is about $599 and thats even if its available.

try this one.
New Power Tilt Trim Motor Volvo Penta with Pump 852928 852928 1 EVH4002 6225 | eBay

penta has a lot of square inches and does not generate as much backpressure from prop. the pump will still only last 4-5 years but that is probably 4-5 more years than you'll get out of a used one. If you want another 20 years, then pretend it is a chrysler and get it rebuilt.

Your local auto electric shop should be able to rebuild it for you.
