trim tilt leak

Today i had my son and nephew on the boat and the trim tilt stopped working, it leaks from the manual release screw, can i leave the screw loose and use the tilt manually till i acn get the motor fixed? or do i have to turm the screw every time i want to tilt motor? motor is 110 with a 1 year old trim motor, it leaks from the manual screw release no matter weather it is open or closed! thank for replys

When you say TnT doesn't work, can you be more specific? Does the electric motor run and no movement? Does the electric motor fail to run? <br />The seal around the manual release can be replaced with the unit in place. You might have to remove a small "C" clip then just unscrew the valve and pull it out with needle nose pliers.

Thanks for reply, the trim motor i replaced last year it runs, the leak is at the manual release screw, the screw turns and gets tight, but when i back it out it does not come out, maybe i can pull it out with needle nose like you said, what kind of a seal is in there and "o" ring?

i was able to get the screw out has no o ring on it, hence the leak, can i put a standard o ring on this? thanks for ant replys
