The "TILT" tube on my 1978 Johnson 115 was weeping pretty bad>>>I thought I was in for an expensive repair to replace the seal. It left a bunch of hydro fluid on the unit everytime I used it.
I just happened to pick-up a few cans of "PB Blaster" because I had seen guys here refer to it as the best penetrating oil around. (I had never heard of it before reading it here).

I saw on the can that it "...restores life to O rings & seals". I have seen this claim before but never had a product work on leaking hydrolic seals.
Well IT WORKED!!! I just lifted the engine, sprayed some on the ram and the seal, let it sit for 15min.>>>resprayed and lowered the unit.
NO MORE LEAK!!!
I don't know if I am just extremely luck with this, but this stuff worked well for me!!!
Just though I would share, it may help someone else with a leaky lift unit.

Re: Trim & Tilt & PB Blaster!

Thanks for that sweet bit of info. I have a leaky seal on a wood splitter, going to give that a try!
