I've been having problems with the trim/tilt on Johnson 50hp. I changed the trim/tilt fluit and now I have nothing. I can hear it trying to raise, but it just won't go up or down. I think I may have gotten air in there and I'm not sure how to bleed it out. Any suggestions?

some tilt's have a up and down relayon the motor if it trims up and not down try swapping the relays to see if the other has gone bad. You will have to pull he cover and look on the side of the of the motor. this will take 2 people one to work switch and the other to help find relays.:):)

was it working before you changed the fluid? most healthy trim systems never need fluid. whenever somebody asks me how to add fluid the first thing I think is ... "i wonder if they found the leak yet?"

I am having the same problem with my 1999 50 hp johnson. First it would go down fine, but would need help to go up. Now after trying to replace the oil, I can't get it to go down or up. Any thoughts?
