Is there anything different to do when using a Electric Troll motor in salt? Looks pretty well sealed, and just wash it off after use? Thanks in advance

They make saltwater models for that.... I "heard" that the freshwater models wouldn't hold up to the salt. I have never put mine in the salt so I am not speaking from experience here.....

Robby6950, I see your are listed here in Puget Sound. With the tides we have here, it would take a pretty good size electric motor to fish against the tides and a lot of battery power. Take a tide w/6-10 foot drop/rise, that is about like trying to go up river against the water. We don't get that many days of slow tides.

gsso36...Get yer "drift" so to speak. It was just a general question that I've been meaning to ask. Yes to the tides in the south sound!. 18 to 20 feet in spring. This will be a 12 footer with a small electric, and will probably sell to someone to use on an inland lake. Also have 14-20hp, a 20 footer/125, and 5000# 25 footer to push back the tides! Thanks all for the concern and answers! Robby
