I have to use a dinghy to get from a rocky shore to my buoy. It's not too long of a trip, but would prefer mechanical to manual propulsion since rowing will take up a lot more room. I have a 30lb Minnkota Endura that I use on my little boat that would be perfect for this application. However, I need a light battery as I will have to schlep the motor, battery, etc from the car to the dinghy, which is a couple hundred yards. I was thinking an AGM PWC battery would fit the bill. West Marine has one that weighs around 17 lbs. That sounds a lot better than the 40 or so that my current one is. Would this work? I heard that AGM's are good for deep cycle applications.

Thanks for your help.
