I have a 3.5 Mercury Outboard for my 10' inflatable but I want something a little lighter for certain days when I just don't feel like lugging the gas outboard.

I have a 10' inflatable and I am hoping someone could suggest a minimum size trolling motor I can use.

Anyone that has used a trolling motor I would love to hear your pros and cons of trolling motor on inflatable.

My inflatable in a "Baltic" which is a knockoff of a achilles, avon, caribe, zodiac, etc...

A battery and a trolling motor is going to weigh more then your outboard.
No trolling motor made will be able to achieve the speed of your outboard. If your set on getting a trolling motor then I would get the largest 12 volt trolling motor available which is probably around 55lbs thrust. Trolling motors with variable speed have a battery maximizer built in which extends the life of your battery between recharges. 5 speed trolling motors don't have this feature so your battery will die considerably quicker which may leave you up a creek.

The smallest trolling motor I would put on it would be a 36 lb thrust motor but you won't make any headway in strong wind.
