trolling motor trips relay on battery at highest speed

I have a motorguide 64 lb thrust with a 5 speed foot pedal. When I run on highest speed it knocks relay on one of my 24v system batterys after just a few seconds. <br />Why and what to do.

barrycyphers, have you used the exact same setup you have now, before with no problems? Check your wireing for damage and corrosion. What is the gauge of the wire and how long is it? Anything that increases amp draw will cause this. A bent or otherwise damaged prop. Dirty motor brushes. Moisture on electrical components, etc... Check your system over thoroughly for cleanliness and damage. #6 AWG minimum should be used, however using an even bigger wire may solve your problem or shortening the distance between the motor and the batteries.
