What is the general feeling about using trolling plates?? I have a 90 hp force

and I'm wondering if it will be slow enough for good fishing. We used one on our old I/O and it worked well.

To slow my Trophy 1802 (115hp Mercury) I first tried Smart Tabs (Protrolling series), not slow enough, 2.1 mph. Next I tried drift bags . . slow enough, 1.3 - 1.7mph, but boat was too hard to handle for my 78 yo Dad. Tried the Happy Troller (trolling plate) and it slowed to 0.9 - 1.4 mph me enough and i've had no problems with them so far. Wish i had tried it earlier it would have saved me a little $$ and put more Walleye in the boat. Hope this helps!

Re: Trolling plates

I just throw a couple 5 gallon buckets out the back. No experience with the trolling plates though
