I took my boat out a few weeks ago and it was running real rough, would not get up to speed and sounded like it was not running on all 4 cyl. So I took it back to the marina, there were 2 wet plugs that were not firing, they changed a coil, and cleaned out the injectors. THey said the gas I left in from the winter was bad and I should have not left it was a full tank. They said they took it out and ran it up to speed and I should be fine. <br /><br />So I take it back out last week, it idels out of the marina fine, bring it up to speed and runs fine for a few minutes then starts to die and stalls. After that it would not run for more then a few seconds. Had to paddle back to the marina. Now they say that the whole fuel system could be pluged up.<br /><br />Should I try a gas heat solution to try and get the crap out of the gas, get all of the gas out of the tanks 30 gallons, any other suggestions??? I am not apposed to taking it back to the boat shop, it is just a commute for me.<br /><br />thanks in adavnce<br /><br />Doug
<br /><br />I think I agree with the wrenches.<br /><br />Did you stabilize your fuel when you put her up for the winter? Do you have a water seperating filter between tank and engine?<br /><br />I think I would disconnect the fuel line at the engine and drain a gallon or so into a clear container and take a look at it. Anything, ANYTHING in the fuel, drain and flush the tank.<br /><br />If you don't have a Service Manual, don't touch the engine. If you do, follow the troubleshooting directions for the fuel system. Otherwise, take it to the factory trained and certified wrench. If they aren't certified, find one that is.
