Re: Tru-Cool transmission coolers... Anyone use them?
Homerr.........

I'm not familar with that brand of cooler, but the size you mention will be very effective in prolonging your tranny's life.

Example...I have a 1972 Dodge van, with the 727 tranny, behind the 360 cu. in. engine. As soon as I bought the van, about 28 years ago ,I installed a smaller tranny cooler that you describe, but I believe it has kept my tranny alive for over 215,000 miles, without any failures or repairs. This doesn't include my adjusting the bands, changing the fluid and filter every 25,000 miles.

I use to tow a fairly heavy travel trailer and my boats with it, sometime over great distances, again with out any failure.

I'm sure the design of most of them has little change over the years, but you get what you pay for.

I still have this old van and the tranny is getting a tired now, but it still works well.

(My wife has refused to ride in this old van for the last 12+ years, due to it's physical condition. rolleyes: )

...Bob in Calif...
