have a nice little 83 Galaxy with a 2.5 and 400 leg. gets up, moves, great condition but.....
steering is hard at low speeds turning to port. get up on a plane and it's smooth as silk. I've been trying to find the lube points as the manual points out but the bloody picture in the SELOC manual is so washed out I can't make heads or tales of it. what bits I can identify do not seem to have a nipple attached (insert various jokes here).

The kid I purchased this thing from seem to think oil was suposed to be black and sticky so I've been systimaticly changing and inspecting everything. want to lube up the steering as a matter of maint but.....

If anyone has a better reference for lube points than the SELOC manual pics I'd love to see it, here about it, etc....a pic with a arrow and caption of "it's right here stupid" would also be appreciated :)

Thanks.

Re: tru course steering question

My first place to start would be at the swivel. I think it's the same on the 800, but I might be wrong. On the front of the drive you should see a plastic "nut" ... remove that (it's a cover essentially) and there are two fittings to grease. That might help it move more freely.

It should be roughly where the red circle is in this image ...
