Truck bedliner roll-on paint

My restoration involves removing the engine doghouse, enclosing my I/O engine from gunwale-to-gunwale, and creating a combination sundeck and fishing platform. I'm thinking of using that thick bedliner paint to do the job. Has anyone tried using this for something similar (perhaps a boat deck)?

Vinyl upholstery would be to squishy & prone to tearing... SeaDek or something similar may be an option, but I thought that the bedliner may be a viable option for the job.... any thoughts?

Thanks in-advance!

the DIY bedliner kits suck. opt for Rhino or Line-X

Thanks, Scott Danforth & mickeyryan... A concern of mine was engine heat - you feel that these coatings can take the "warmth" of an engine underneath?

there should really be no warmth to speak of since they are water cooled as well as exhaust I know my engine area doesn't get much hotter then a hot day in florida, i imagine having the blower running keeps heat to a minimum as well .
also I will agree with Scott, the only product besides line-x i would ever recommend is raptor liner, and that is based on looking at crappy work beds done with dura liner gater hyde rustoleaum and other products, the nice part about raptor is its easy to apply can get a nice suede type pattern instead of bumpy that cheap bed liners give,it truly looks professional once applied and its a two part urathane . and its tintable :) so you can do white if you like or any other color you desire even metal flake but i would suggest putting metal flake in the clear instead of the base because it doesn't float to surface like common paints do .(I do not work for upol or anyone else that sells this product , i just have a strong belief in it since i used it )

I am going to use Total Tread non-skid deck paint. Made for Marine use, uses rubber instead of sand, and looks pretty affordable.

That Total Tread product reads well, let us know how that works for you, SDSeville. Thanks for sharing, y'all.

I happened to view a Friscoboater's Wellcraft 190 restore video, that has inspired me to look again at using vinyl upholstery.

Even though the vinyl is quite heave-duty, I'm really worried about it getting torn during use. The vinyl on his restoration (he claims to be several years old) seems to be holding-up quite well, but I still worry.

I'm so conflicted!
