trying to find serial #, & or model #

I found an apparent 20 hp evinrude in an old barn on some land that i inherited, and i can't find any #'s to ID it.

look around the powerhead,there may be some alum plugs with numbers and letters stamped,on the sides of the mounting brackets,also post a picture if you can. is the cover aluminum or fiberglass

Thanks, I'll check . the Cover is fiberglass, it has a 20hp decal on it , but this motor weights appox. 100lbs. a friend told it may be 35 hp

on the transom bracket or on top of the engine should be a quarter size disc, with letters & numbers. here's how to post a picture;

Might be old enough to have a plate between the transom brackets,in the front just below the handle you carry it from.
