Hi all: I'm looking for help with replacing the ski locker in my Bayliner. When I purchased it, the last owner had replaced the floor and did not put the locker back in it. So I'm trying to figure out were to start cutting. I have pulled up the carpet, but just don't know where to start cutting. Any help/advise would be appreciated. Thanks

Not sure what size your boat is but, I have a 1996 16'. I have a thread where I did some floor work. If yours is a 16' I could give you measurements.

Did the owner actually replace the deck or did the decking get an overlay of wood?

Welcome to iboats.

More details about your boat are needed........ we are terrible at guessing.

Sorry it took so long to reply. Here are some measurements I took of my boat.( sorry for the poor lines, I am not that skilled with editing yet and used a free app) So here is what the following lines mean. Red is a measurement line, the blue is to indicate the stringer under the deck. Also remember, mine is 16 ft so probably diffeent than yours.
1. from console at floor to opening- 24"
2. port side, wall to opening - 24 1/2"
3. short side of opening - 12 1/2"
4. starboard side wall to opening - 25"
5. long side of opening - 43 1/2"
6. back wall to opening - 17 1/4"
7. opening to stringer( under deck) - 6"
8. opening to stringer( under deck) - 6 1/2"

I'd recommend listening to this response..not saying Slayer is wrong...but before you start cutting...a detailed assessment is needed...for your wallets sake!
