Driver of the boat will luck out if doesn't face vehicular homocide, the only thing that comes to mind is old the lets see how close to the dock we can get, man that's a tragedy, sad.

Ya most government controlled lakes have limits on how close you can get to a dock. You must be at no wake speed if you do have to get close to a dock or another boat. You see people ignore those laws all the time. Lucky things like this don't happen more often

if boaters would take the time to learn the laws... maybe they would think twice about coming tearing up close to the dock...

if there was any drinking involved it will definitely be manslaughter...

even without booze it will still be operator negligence...

You just have to ask yourself why. A very young girl was killed 2 weeks ago at lake Winola in Pa. The boat slammed into a small dock repair barge & she was thrown from the boat without a PFD. Just people screwing around & not paying attention to what they are doing or where their going. It is just sad. I'm a first time boat owner this year & I took the safety course to get the insurance break & I'll tell you what, I learned a ****load of stuff, thank God I did the course. I just hate to hear of stories like these.

Definitely a preventable accident. Likely didn't "fall" off. Probably knew he was going to hit the dock and attempted some sort of evasive manoever. Sad situation however.

yea, I was thinking the guy bailed, operator probably had done this stunt many times and had it down pat, stupid thing to do but you'll have that. I could have been killed many times over by some of the dumb stunts during my adolesence.

Key word, preventable. Someone at a local lake is missing after falling off of a tube Saturday.
