Re: Tubing accident

Driver is responsible.
I agree with QC, we're regulated to death now. Does it work? No. Having more and more laws doesn't mean they are going to be enforced.
Here in MD, after a certain birthdate, a safety registration is required. This is gained by instruction and passing a test (or just passing the test).
It's a one time thing. And it doesn't cure stupid much less negligence which is I'm sure on the books everywhere.

Re: Tubing accident

sorry guys......this kind of stuff make me mad.....

the captain should get more than a fine for this kind of stuff.......in a car, thats called undue care and attention......it is a criminal offence.

he could have killed that tuber.......thats why we need a real boaters licence...one that takes 40 hrs class and a few hrs on the water before you get one.....and one that can be revoked by doing stupid human stuff like that

That sounds suspiciously much like getting a pilots license....,

Too expensive, too complicated, overregulated and....Overruled!
steeeeeerike, you're out!

Well meant of course. :D

Re: Tubing accident

i wouldnt mind the boating licence as hard to get as a pilot's but it would never happen.........

however at least as hard as a drivers licence.....including in boat training.....

my thoughts are that people will follow thier training....(hope)

as far as fines......man....id just hate to see the guberment think of boating as a cash cow....and put bazillions of cops on the water to "regulate" the way people play in one of their only playgrounds!

but this boater pulling a tube is the reason why somthing needs to happen.....

just think if this guy DID scratch the paint on project hog's boat and met up with PH's hundred little round friends.....(rightfully deserved in my opinion)
now weve got 2 crimes !

education and enforcement that fits the crime....not fines is my hope.
