Have an old 89 Arriva bowrider but in good shape. Switching out my 89 Force 125 for an 89 Evinrude 150 in great shape.

The prop that came with it is 23 pitch which is over propped for my boat. Looking at a Turning Point Hustler 3 or 4 blade 14.5 x17
The 4 blade uses dual blade geometry which combine top end performance with hole shot performance. Anyone have good feedback about the Hustler 4 prop?
I do everything with this boat. Cruise, tube & ski.

Couldn't be certain, but I'd think that a 17"p would be under propped for that set up ?
What was she running like with he 23"p and the 150hp ?

You provide very little data. Nothing for a comparison. 4 blades are used when more water interaction is needed. Toys, cruising and fat, heavy (especially stern heavy) boats are contenders.

The boat is 20 ft. long weighs about 2300 lbs. with the Evinrude 150 Last summer if performed well with a 17 pitch on my Force 125. WOT was bang on. The Force is now dead. I have just aquirred the Evinrude 150. According to the Turning point prop wizzard 17 is the pitch for all round unless strictly skiing then 15. In Turning Point's recomondation they offer the Hustler 3 & 4 blade options for my setup. Both 17 pitch. Normally I would go with the 3 blade but if the 4 blade would give me better holeshot, faster planing & better handling & fuel economy as they say then sure. If I have to give up 2 mph top end thats ok. I just wanted to hear it from anyone out there that has tried one rather than relying on the manufacturer praising it.

Gee, do you know the gear ratios of both the Force and the Johnny? That would help you match the prop.

IMO, a 3 blade prop is better for boats that give higher performance.

A 17 would be in the ballpark on that boat/motor combo. I ran a 19in on a 18 footer with a 150hp
