Has anyone had any expierence with these props. I have heard and read some good things but was wondering what the experts thought.
Looking at getting one. Dont have the cash laying around for a SS but supposedly these are close in performance. I have a good SS for water sports and such but kinda wanting a higher pitch for cruising with just me and the lady.
Thanks guys

Re: Turning point props?

Yup, I run a Hustler 14 1/4 X 21P, and it is everything it is advertised to be.

Better holeshot, better top end, hooks really tight in the corners (where my OEM prop would blow out). Very happy with mine. Like you, I didn't have the $$ for SS, and now I wouldn't bother with SS. Better yet, if I whack it, I get a new one for like $80 without the hub.

BTW- They have really good service too. I had the hub come apart last year when I was disassembling the prop so I could chrome powder coat it. I called them up, Phil IIRC, and he sent me a new one for free. They stand behind their product!!

Re: Turning point props?

I haven't purchased anything from them, however I have talked with their "tech folks" more than once and I found them to be quite knowledgable and friendly. My advice to you would be to give them a call and just talk to them for a while. I think you'll be impressed.

The only reason I didn't purchase from them is because I decided to go with S/S in the end.

Re: Turning point props?

i had one on a 40hp johnson and it did everything they said it would do. and when i bought it they told me they were willing to let me take to the lake and keep trying different pitches till i got what i wanted. i didn't need to because i told them what i had and what i wanted the prop to do and listened to their recommendation and it was right on. i would buy another one again.

Re: Turning point props?

This is a review a did on my Turning Point propeller last year, when you read it you will see there is a little more to just adding a prop and getting miracle results.
I got lucky,(but I did do my homework first) it was a great purchase and it gave me everything I was after, but not everyone will see the same results which will lead some to believe they purchased a sub-standard prop? Make sure your set-up is correct, your engine is tuned and your tach is reading correctly before purchasing any prop.
Anyways, here it is, good luck........Irv964

Re: Turning point props?

My experience with Hustlers on a 40HP outboard, and on an I/O, was that I had to drop down in pitch (compared to oem alum prop) to stay at the same rpm range.
