Well we changed the trailer guts to 1- 7/8 and it worked perfectly. The boat is safe and sound at my home. The other guts might have been a theft deterrent for I know.

I want to thank everyone here at iboats forum for all the help. It's nice to know there are people that will help you out when you need some real answers from the guys who know it best.

glad you got it sorted out.

just curious, after you pulled out the old guts, if you were able to see the reason why the ball couldn't go in any farther?

could you post a picture of it so we can see what it looked like?

cool. thanks for letting us know how it turned out. some folks never let us know how it ends up. it leaves us guessing, and this way if we ever run across this problem in the future we can look up old threads with out starting a new one. glad you solved it easily.

Your problem was trailer towing 101. Guess you learned one important thing....your two towing pros weren't pros after all!!

Well......Everything was great about all the help I received until this post. It never fails where ever you go, there's always one person that has got to show his a%*..unbelievable...

I think you took that WAY different than it was intended

You said two towing pros couldn't figure it out.... That sounds like you took it to two mechanics who specialized in trailers.....

Jim was saying they were far from pros if they couldn't figure this out because anyone in the business should have known this right away.

If you thought he was insulting you then either you misunderstood him or we misunderstood you....

Next time maybe ask for clarification or try to figure out where the misunderstanding was before getting offended.

I understand.. I took it the wrong way..After reading the post again, he thought we took the trailer somewhere and had it looked at, but the two pro were us... My bad..My apologies.. We knew we could change the guts out the day we were there, but it was the issue of why the other was not working the first day there when we had no tools, no extra hitch guts and was pouring cats and dogs. I still do not know at this point what the problem was. My buddy picked up the boat for me because I had to work. I will ask if he saw anything weird about the other guts when he changed them out.
