Previously, I soldered a tach sync wire to one of the Yellow wires from the regulator. The most the tach would read was 3500 RPM. Today I disconnected the soldered tach sync wire at the terminal block (Right hand side) I made up a small jumper to run from the other yellow Stator wire (at the terminal block) to the tach sync wire (at the terminal block) and now it works like a charm:D

5200 RPM @ WOT with Solas 19P prop.

This is an old photo with the original regulator in place. The universal reg does not have a gray wire coming out of it.

The terminal block is just to the right of the CDI box(name?) The right hand wire above the red was removed and a jumper was put in its place run upto top Yellow stator wire.

Good job Paul! :D

It doesn't make sense as the current is AC but I also found that switching from one yellow wire makes the tach work better. Go figure.
